Judge Cheryl Lynn Allen Endorses Judge Panepinto
HARRISBURG, PA (Sept. 21, 2015) – Former Superior Court Judge Cheryl Lynn Allen today endorsed Judge Paul Panepinto for the Supreme Court.
Said Judge Allen, “We must have Supreme Court justices who are competent, ethical jurists and administrators, who hold sacred their oath to be fair and impartial, and who honor the law and constitution above all else, without fear or favor. Pennsylvanians have an opportunity this November to send the message that we will no longer accept a scandalized judicial system controlled by party bosses. I am voting for Judge Paul Panepinto for Supreme Court in November—a truly independent, wise, and ethical voice for the people of Pennsylvania.”
Judge Allen served the Commonwealth on the Superior Court bench from 2007-2015.
“I am very honored to be endorsed by Judge Allen, whose sterling reputation as a jurist earned her the respect of all Pennsylvanians,” Panepinto said.
Why I’m Supporting Panepinto for Supreme Court
Scandal has plagued Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court for two decades, culminating in the highest number of simultaneous vacancies on the bench in 311 years.
For the first time since 1704, three seats on the high court will be filled this November. In 1704, the Queen of England had the final say about who would sit on Pennsylvania’s high court. In 2015, little is different, because elite political powerbrokers so often hold sway.
Today, party bosses within both the Republican and Democrat parties make it extremely difficult for anyone to run for an appellate court seat without their blessing.
The political elite engineer the endorsement, by their respective parties’ state committees, of favored candidates based on politics, not merit. Sometimes, highly-qualified and ethical candidates are endorsed, but it is usually in spite of the party endorsement process, not because of it. And therein lies our problem. We elect one person after another, hand-selected by the politicos, who through corruption or lack of ethics ultimately fail the people of Pennsylvania.
Here’s the good news: Judge Paul Panepinto (Court of Common Pleas) has qualified to become Pennsylvania’s first independent Supreme Court candidate since 1993. Only a candidate with exceptional courage would pave an independent path. Judge Panepinto marshaled an impressive force of grassroots volunteers to overcome significant ballot access hurdles. While party candidates needed only 1,000 signatures to get on the ballot, Judge Panepinto had to get more than 16,000 signatures. His team amassed 29,000, and for good reason.
Judge Panepinto has served on the bench for over 25 years. He’s won numerous awards and bears the recommendation of the Bar Association—an honor not all candidates can claim. Most importantly, his candidacy is the “birth of a movement to get politics out of the courtroom and restore honor to the Supreme Court.” Why does he say that? Because I believe, and he agrees, that politics is the greatest impediment to justice in the Pennsylvania court system.
We must have Supreme Court justices who are competent, ethical jurists and administrators, who hold sacred their oath to be fair and impartial, and who honor the law and constitution above all else, without fear or favor.
Pennsylvanians have an opportunity this November to send the message that we will no longer accept a scandalized judicial system controlled by party bosses. Politics has no place in the halls of justice. Lady Justice must be non-partisan. The Supreme Court belongs to the people, not the party bosses. The only way to restore honor to our judicial system is to elect justices who are not a product of the political system. The Supreme Court should again be a place where the promise of justice exists for all, not just the politically empowered or connected.
I am voting for Judge Paul Panepinto for Supreme Court in November—a truly independent, wise, and ethical voice for the people of Pennsylvania. Please join me.

A Message from Lynn Panepinto for Voters Endorsing her Dad
In just a few weeks, you have a very important responsibility to fulfill. On November 3, 2015, it is Election Day, and if you only do one thing that day, please make it going out to vote. Although you may not think so, it DOES matter, and there are qualified individuals who will be faithful representatives for you. That is why I would like to make sure that you know about my dad, Judge Paul P. Panepinto, the only Independent candidate for Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice.
When you go to vote on November 3rd, you will see a list of seven individuals’ names on the ballot for Supreme Court Justice, and you will have the option to choose three. It is very important to know each of the candidates and to know that one is quite different from the others. Judge Panepinto has been a Judge in Philadelphia for twenty-five years. He has worked in every type of court setting: family, civil, and criminal. He has been a strong advocate for children and families. He has acted with integrity throughout his entire career and maintains a proven and professional record of accomplishments. He is also Recommended by the PA Bar Association and endorsed by former Superior Court Justice Cheryl Lynn Allen, who has known and worked alongside him for years. Judge Panepinto is fair and honest, and perhaps most importantly, he is INDEPENDENT, which means that he is NOT beholden to any political parties. He believes in working with and for the people and restoring integrity to the High Court.
It is necessary that we as a society take judicial elections more seriously and exercise our right to vote. Too many of us are waiving our rights to participate in this democratic process, and as a result, unqualified, corrupt individuals are being elected to our High Courts. People who lack experience and are beholden to political agendas are given the task to uphold justice for us, and quite frankly, they are failing us. We need to reclaim our rights by educating ourselves on these elections as well as the candidates, and we need to make it our business to ensure that the people who will stand up for justice and demonstrate integrity are being elected. I can promise you that Judge Panepinto will continue to serve the people as he has been doing for years. I urge you to participate in the November 3rd elections, and I hope that you will make an educated decision about those who will receive your valuable vote.
Make your voice heard, and vote for Judge Paul P. Panepinto, the Independent candidate for PA Supreme Court. Vote for JUSTICE ABOVE POLITICS.
